Young Pathfinders Survival Club

Young Pathfinders – Survival afterschool club!

Miss Swallow is part of a team called Young Pathfinders, based in Leicester. In Spring 2019, she started a brand new branch of this team in Leeds called the Young Pathfinders Leeds Outpost. This is a children's adventure club which inspires children to learn and develop through survival and bushcraft based activities. Children will have the opportunity to learn everything from shelter building and building fires, to knot tying, knife skills, purifying water and much more. This is an extremely exciting club!

Survival Club will run from the Whitby Room (Bungalow) and use the school grounds as a base. The children learn things like:

  • the 4 main areas of survival
  • basic first aid
  • shelter building
  • knot tying
  • fire safety, how to build a fire, what to collect to make good kindling, how to make a stove
  • water purification – how to take unclean water, purify it and boil it to make a cup of tea

The pictures below are from the first club which ran Spring 2019. Please click on the facebook link below to see pictures and videos from all the clubs that have run and are currently running so far.
