We had an amazing response to our science fair. The children brought in a fantastic array of research, investigations, projects and models that they had made at home. They were enthusiastic and proud about their work and all of the children enjoyed listening to their peers explain what they were interested in and learn about different areas of science. The hall was an excited buzz in the hall and lots of talk about science, which was lovely to see. Please use the pause button if you need to spend more time viewing different images.
These are photos of our very successful 'No Devices Week'. The children were invited to come to a club after school. Activities included making Italian sauce and fresh pasta, toasting marshmallows around a campfire, practising photography skills, making robots out of wood, playing boccia and dominoes. We were also lucky enough to have-ex pupils who came in to support us. We were grateful to Yeadon CC and 16th Airedale Scouts who came too.
Here are some shots from our leavers concert.
In the morning, we watched a WW2 production about life during the war, then all classes carried out their own VE day activities such as making medals, learning the lyrics to 'We'll Meet Again' and creating VE Day bunting. In the afternoon, we had a fabulous magician in the hall for some 'traditional entertainment' which really had us all laughing, and we enjoyed a whole school street party together on the playground. Thank you to parents for sending food in and to the children for looking fabulous in their red, white & blue and 1940s outfits! It was a very memorable day!
This video is of Years 4,5 and 6 doing their VE related activities.

All our pupils took part in a variety of activities as part gf British Science Week. Here are three videos showing them in action.
Looking at the work of a radiographer. The pupils analysed X-rays.
The pupils looked at science work in the NHS, and carried out testing of samples.
The pupils looked at the process of chromatography, which separated colours, and at combing colours into white using spinning discs.
Year 4 have celebrated Christmas with a party.
We had a great day meeting David Hardcastle, an ex-police officer, who came into school and ran 2 workshops, 1 with Year 3 and 4, and 1 with Year 5 and 6. He talked about the history of policing, children got to try on police clothing, they got to try finger print markings, he brought in lots of artefacts for the children to look at and shared lots of interesting stories with us all!
We had two Halloween discos. Here is a video of Year 5/6's disco.
