Have you ever navigated an orienteering course whilst being chased by aliens? This was the challenge for Year 5 on a sunny March afternoon. Year 5 enjoyed following a route using their map skills whilst racing against their peers. However, they had to be careful of three pupils wearing alien hats. If they were caught, they would have to hand their map over and become an alien themselves! Much fun was had by all.
Spring Term 2021 - Year 4 - PE/Geography
Year 4 have been practising how to be mountain rescuers in our Geography topic called 'Mighty Mountains'. The learning objective of the lesson was to understand what the role of the mountain rescue team was.
The children created a scenario where the team would have to venture into the mountains to rescue someone and then they had to take an object (an injured person) across a mountain range (obstacle course in the hall) without dropping/injuring the person!
We combined this with our P.E session today : )
